Quadrupole Sonic Imaging Logging with Drilling (QUAST) is the second generation of Quadrupole Sonic Imaging with Drilling (QUAST) logging instrument independently developed by Tianjin Snark Energy Development Co. QUAST combines unipolar full-wave measurement technology and quadrupole spiral wave logging technology, and can measure longitudinal wave, transverse wave and Stoner wave slowness in any formation. Using the drilling quadrupole sonic data, it can provide real-time rock mechanical parameters to optimize drilling operations, determine the best drilling direction, and identify formations with better completion characteristics.
